Turns out Cruella de Vil was onto something and we just didn’t know it; polka dots are back in a big way (and not just in black and white fur coats). Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and Lanvin’s fall runways were covered in this spotted trend, here are a few of my favourites.
Although this trend is one that never really goes away, it’s sometimes difficult knowing how to bring it into the present but what I love about polka dots the ability to wear it in so many different ways.
For those who are shy or new to this trend, here are a few dotty pointers:
The smaller the dots the more retro the look, go for whatever you are most comfortable in.
-Don’t be afraid to try it in different colours, jewel tones are huge for this fall and are just as fun as the classic black and white print.
-Keep the accessories simple, neutral shoes and plain jewelry or one statement piece.
-Try it in a scarf or a shoe if you’re not quite ready to commit.
